Becoming New

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

This past Sunday in church one of our friends was able to talk and this was the gist of his message.

The week before he talked Fred was gone from Monday to Saturday. Normally Fred being gone would cause a great amount of anxiety within me. But I had such a peace from the Lord! Especially when Fred would send me pictures of what he was getting to see and do…..

These are just a few pictures of the things Fred got to be apart of. He got to go to another province to help fly Papua New Guinean Doctors around to share with other Papua New Guineans about the dangers of COVID.

When I saw these pictures and many more I couldn’t get over how cool it was that Fred got to be out helping the people of PNG in this way!

So as my week progressed I was trying to place what I was feeling. I described my time as peaceful but I was also exhausted.

Then when our friend started talking about what it takes for us to become new and the chiseling from God that has to happen in order for us to become new I was able to put it together.

This time of us joining Wycliffe and coming to PNG has been my time of chiseling. God has been taking away at my insecurities, my anxiousness, my faults that make me human. And in the week Fred was gone I was tested to see how strong I truly was. By Gods grace I was able to stand the test. I was able to take care of my house, my kids and all cultural things that came up…. by Gods grace.

God is so good!! I truly hope all of you get to experience God in this way in your lifet! To truly become new in HIM!
